The Dance Workshop first opened its doors over 40 years ago under the direction of Susan Bush. The studio was based out of the Alliston Memorial Arena for the bulk of those years. Upon Susan's retirement in 2014 the studio was purchased by Colleen Ross.

The Dance Workshop is a rapidly growing studio in Alliston, Ontario. Under the direction of Miss Colleen the studio has grown from 80 students to over 300 students. We believe our slogan “dance, done, differently” is what sets us apart from other studios and what has contributed greatly to our success.

It has always been the philosophy of The Dance Workshop that dance enriches the development of the whole person. Under the instruction of qualified teachers, students at The Dance Workshop develop confidence in themselves and their abilities in a welcoming atmosphere.

Our Promise to Parents
Our choreography and music will always be age appropriate while being paired with modest, affordable costumes.

We are a YPAD Certified Studio
The Dance Workshop is proud to be a Youth Protection Advocates certified dance studio. As a certified studio all of our instructors are:

  • Criminal Referenced Checked
  • CPR and First-Aid Trained
  • Committed to age appropriate artistic choices in music, costumes, movement, concepts and physical safety
  • Trained in emotional health, physical safety, psychology of injury and healthy food relationships for dancers
To maintain our standing as a YPAD studio we must renew our certification every two years.

Equal Opportunities for All Students
The Dance Workshop believes that all students regardless of ability or future aspirations in dance deserve the same high standard of dance education and equal opportunities to strive for their personal best.

Qualified Teachers for Every Age Group
Regardless of age or class level, all students will be taught by qualified adults. This means that each child has the same qualified teachers whether they are 2 years old or 18 years old. We firmly believe that young children deserve the same quality education as their older peers. With a qualified teacher as their instructor we ensure our younger students are given the building blocks to which the foundation of dance is built upon.
